The Challenge
Balancing extensive glazing with a sense of privacy called for a thoughtful architectural approach, bringing natural light and garden views into a home with a distinctive contemporary presence.
The design challenge centres on creating openness without losing the comfort of a private home. Large glazed elevations need visual balance, while changes in building height and depth must connect naturally with the garden, outdoor terraces and the practical scale of everyday living.
The solution
The design combines generous glazing with projecting rooflines, contrasting frames and carefully layered volumes. White walls reflect the daylight, while a natural stone base anchors the home within its green setting and landscaped surroundings.
Across both levels, large windows establish a strong visual connection with the garden, while warm lighting softens the crisp architectural lines. The terrace provides a seamless transition between the house and lawn, creating space to pause and gather outdoors. Together, the glass, stone and restrained colour palette give the residence a cohesive character that feels both contemporary and inviting.
